1. Our commitment to privacy

RNC respects your privacy and recognises the importance of protecting personal and health information. We aim to handle personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable Australian privacy, health-record and professional requirements.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on your relationship with RNC, we may collect identifying and contact information, referral and appointment information, health and disability information, functional and rehabilitation information, employment or vocational information, funding or insurer information, correspondence, service records and billing information.

3. How information is collected

Information may be collected directly from you through enquiries, referrals, assessments, service delivery, forms, email, telephone or our website. With consent or where otherwise permitted, information may also be received from family members, carers, treating practitioners, rehabilitation providers, employers, insurers, plan managers, support coordinators and other relevant organisations.

4. How information is used

RNC may use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess needs, provide nursing or rehabilitation support, develop and review plans, coordinate care, communicate with relevant stakeholders, prepare reports, manage appointments and accounts, improve services and meet legal or professional obligations.

5. Health and sensitive information

Health, disability and other sensitive information is handled with particular care. We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary for the services being provided and disclose it only with appropriate authority, consent or another lawful basis.

6. Website and social media

Please do not send detailed medical records, urgent clinical information or highly sensitive health information through public social-media platforms or the general website contact form. We may move conversations to a more suitable communication channel when confidential information needs to be discussed.

7. Technology providers

RNC may use third-party providers for business email, website hosting, cloud services, forms, accounting, document management and other business functions. RNC currently uses Zoho for business email, with the RNC Zoho account located in the Australia data centre. Website hosting may be provided through Netlify.

8. Data security

RNC takes reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Safeguards may include access controls, passwords, multi-factor authentication, secure systems and appropriate confidentiality practices.

9. Access and correction

You may ask to access or correct personal information RNC holds about you. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Contact admin@rnc.net.au.

10. Privacy complaints

If you have a concern about how RNC has handled your information, please contact us so we can review the matter. If a privacy concern cannot be resolved directly, you may also have rights to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

11. Data breaches

If RNC becomes aware of a suspected data breach, we will take reasonable steps to contain and assess the incident, reduce potential harm and make notifications where required by applicable law.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when RNC services, systems or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this website.
